Chebukati, Molu And Guliye To Face IEBC Tribunal

Former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chaiman Wafula Chebukati, commissioners Abdi Yakub Guliye and Boya Molu will today face the tribunal probing four dissident commissioners.

Before the Justice Aggrey Muchelule-led tribunal, the three former IEBC staff will give their testimonies on the conduct of Commissioner Irene Masit, who is accused of misconduct during the 2022 elections period.

The tribunal was formed to investigaed four IEBC commissioners dubbed ‘Cherera 4’’ but three namely Juliana Cherera, Justus Nyangaya and Francis Wanderi have since resigned.

Commissioner Irene Masit, who is the only one yet to resign is appearing before the tribunal, fighting off allegations of violation of the Constitution and gross misconduct.

Masit is also the only IEBC commissioner yet to leave office after Chebukati, Molu and Guliye’s term ended and
