Ordination and Dedication: A Commitment to God’s Call

At the Cathedral on January 6th, 2024, a solemn ceremony witnessed the ordination of priests and the induction of deacons, a profound service dedicated to the commitment to serve God in Holiness, drawing inspiration from Isaiah 41 and Psalm 100.

The preacher, The Ven Canon Scholar Wayua, fervently persuaded both the congregation and the ordinands, highlighting the weight of their acceptance of this divine calling. She emphasized that choosing to say yes to this vocation is akin to entering a battle against evil forces. However, she reassured that God’s presence would be steadfast with them, regardless of the path they traverse.

Addressing the ordinands directly, she instilled confidence by assuring them that wherever they are sent, God’s unwavering companionship will accompany them, dispelling any fears or thoughts of retreat. She urged everyone to persist in their dedication to faith, family, and the sacred calling, asserting that despite contemporary challenges or political turmoil, it is crucial never to forsake the Church and the divine call.

The service, under the guidance of the presiding and ordaining Bishop RT Rev Dr Joseph Karimi Kibucwa, stood as a beacon of commitment and resolve to answer the divine summons and serve God in holiness.
